Modern soft drinks originated in pharmacies, where apothecaries prepared their own drinks as a remedy for heartburn or stomach ailments. The growing demand for these products and advances in carbonation and corking techniques led to the start of their industrial production. For years, the factories were predominantly local, to the extent that it is estimated that around 1950, there were more than 5,000 soft drink manufacturers in Spain.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.museodegrandas.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/02\/fabrica-gaseosas2.jpg\"><img class=\"wp-image-1294 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/www.museodegrandas.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/02\/fabrica-gaseosas2.jpg\" alt=\"fabrica-gaseosas2\" width=\"500\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Grandas de Salime had its own soft drink factory, <em>La Grandalesa<\/em>, from which some of the machinery on display in the hall comes from.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.museodegrandas.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/02\/fabrica-gaseosas.jpg\"><img class=\"wp-image-1295 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/www.museodegrandas.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/02\/fabrica-gaseosas.jpg\" alt=\"fabrica-gaseosas\" width=\"500\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><!--:--><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Effervescent carbonated waters have been appreciated since ancient times for their beneficial properties.
