From the 1970s onwards, men&#8217;s services were provided in women&#8217;s hairdressing salons.\u00a0 The barber&#8217;s tools and chairs in the Museum belonged to the <em>&#8220;D\u00e1maso&#8221;<\/em> barber&#8217;s shop, opened by D. D\u00e1maso Villaverde in 1929 and in service until 1976. The collection was completed with pieces on loan from the Escot\u00e9t hairdressing salon in Oviedo\/Uvi\u00e9u.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.museodegrandas.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/02\/barberia.jpg\"><img class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/www.museodegrandas.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/02\/barberia.jpg\" alt=\"barberia\" width=\"500\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>An interesting and rudimentary perming machine acquired in Somiedo is also exhibited in this space, accompanied by a sample of ladies&#8217; hairdressing instruments from the 40s and 50s.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.museodegrandas.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/02\/barberia2.jpg\"><img class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/www.museodegrandas.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/02\/barberia2.jpg\" alt=\"barberia2\" width=\"500\" \/><\/a><!--:--><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>In Grandas de Salime, there were two barber shops that did not stay open after their owners retired.
