The lintel of the entrance door and the semicircular arch that opens up between the <em>caban\u00f3n<\/em> and\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.museodegrandas.es\/en\/the-museum\/03-corridor\/\">the corridor<\/a> come from the ruins of Salime, a village in the council that was submerged under the waters of the reservoir of the same name in 1953.<\/p>\n<p>The <em>caban\u00f3n<\/em> sheltered the farming equipment from the elements, especially the draught implements that were pulled by cows or oxen. Among the exhibits on display is a country cart, an essential vehicle in peasant farming, used for transporting grass, manure and harvesting the crops. On the wagon you can see several <em>grades<\/em> (harrows), used to break up the clods of the crops.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.museodegrandas.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/02\/cabanon.jpg\"><img class=\"wp-image-1102 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/www.museodegrandas.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/02\/cabanon.jpg\" alt=\"cabanon\" width=\"500\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>With these elements is a selection of basic tools for sowing and mowing. Among them are <em>gada\u00f1as<\/em> (scythes) and <em>angazos<\/em> (wooden rakes) for mowing and collecting grass, <em>picas del toxo<\/em> to chop up the gorse that was given to the horses, and a repertoire of ploughs of different types: <em>araos de pao<\/em> (wooden ploughs) with and without lugs, ploughs with iron mouldboards or specific ploughs for opening up the land in the mountains and sowing wheat or rye, known as <em>cambelas<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.museodegrandas.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/02\/cabanon2.jpg\"><img class=\"wp-image-1103 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/www.museodegrandas.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/02\/cabanon2.jpg\" alt=\"cabanon2\" width=\"500\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><!--:--><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The covered space is known as the caban\u00f3n and is accessed after passing through the Museum&#8217;s entrance.
